On December 2nd I was lucky to participate in a winter themed styled shoot at Waters Edge Resort and Spa in Westbrook, Connecticut with a full team of women owned / run wedding vendors. If you have been to Waters Edge and aren’t familiar, this location is wonderfully situated on the Connecticut shoreline and easily accessible off route 95.
You might be asking yourself why we did a winter shoot. There are a number of reasons, but mostly we hoped to promote winter weddings and how wonderful they can be. Not to mention they tend to be less expensive as vendors and venues typically will provide better off-season pricing! Really when you think about it – we live in New England and you’re not guaranteed good weather in August of January – it’s really the risk you take.
What else did I love about this shoot? I love accessories and we had so many to choose from as A’Dor Couture brought a ton of options from hair pieces, to veils to two capelets! We also got to set-up a mini hot chocolate bar with amazing snowflake marshmallows.
We had to deal with some a misty December day, but the lighting came out great in the photos by Chelsea Elizabeth Photography.
